How it works
Before your appointment
Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your session. Eat normally — no need to fast, but avoid a heavy meal within two hours of your treatment. Wear comfortable, loose clothing so we can access the treatment area easily. Let us know at booking about any medical conditions or medication you're taking. Important: please let us know if you have a pacemaker, metal implants, or any internal medical devices — these are contraindications for EMS.
On the day
You'll lie comfortably while the device is positioned over the treatment area. The sensation is unusual at first — intense, rhythmic muscle contractions that feel like an involuntary workout — but it isn't painful. We'll adjust the intensity to your comfort throughout. Sessions last around 30 minutes. You can rest, listen to music, or chat — there's nothing you need to do.
After your treatment
Expect a muscle soreness similar to the day after a good gym session — this is a positive sign that the treatment has worked. Drink plenty of water and let your body recover. Results develop gradually over 2–4 weeks as the muscle tissue repairs and rebuilds. A course of 4–6 sessions is typically recommended for best results, with top-up sessions every few months to maintain what you've built.
